I’m disappointed in my lack of non-running fitness in week 5, but you can’t win them all. And it’ll probably be that way for the next few weeks (thanks, work.) Today is day 36 and I need to take a break. I have a kitchen to clean and bread and soup to make and laundry to do. That’s my plan for this evening. I’ve turned most Mondays into rest days and I’m beginning to look forward to them as a time and place to have to myself to get my life in order.
Here’s what’s on deck for the rest of the week:
Monday: Rest
Tuesday: 8k
Wednesday: 2k warmup; 3 x 1km repeats at a 6:15-6:25min pace with 90 sec rest (walk) in between; 2km cooldown
Thursday: REST
Friday: 45 minute hilly route
Saturday: Optional easy 30 minute run (will probably do yoga instead)
Sunday: 20k LSD
If I can do the mandatory runs and yoga twice, I’ll be a very happy runner.
