Marathon Training Day #40: Power hour

This photo is blurry and terrible, but you get the idea: there's a lot of snow on the ground.

Toronto got the largest snowfall in five years today and it was awesome. Yes, I was late for work and snow occasionally came up to my knees, but when Mother Nature beats down (and it’s just anĀ inconvenientĀ situation, not a life-threatening one), I like to roll with it. Put on the big boots. Brace the TTC crush. Get to power hour with Baby Balser. I didn’t even know if yoga was still on when I arrived, but it was. And it was great.

My balance was waaaaay off tonight. Maybe it’s the new glasses. Maybe it’s my body trying to jive with what’s going on with the world around me. Maybe it’s work stress. But, just as with the weather, I did my best to roll with it.

Then I bought wine and patiently waited for my streetcar to roll home. The route is normally twenty minutes. Tonight it took over an hour.

I rolled with it.
