Marathon Training Day #79: Just breathe


It’s Tuesday and the plans changed already.

My back was feeling wonky by end of day Monday, so I knew I needed to put my lesson of learning to go to yoga more, not less, into action. So I went to the vinyasa flow lunch time class at Yoga Tree, even though I brought my gear with me with the intention of running home. Yay me! But then, I got thinking. Around the Bay is on Sunday. I have one less run on my schedule. Let’s not overdo things.

So I left my running gear at work and took transit home. I’ll run home on Wednesday instead. That leaves run club on Thursday, a complete rest day on Friday, a gentle run on Saturday and the race on Sunday.

I feel good about this plan. I MIGHT squeeze a gentle yoga class in on Friday if I’m up for it, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
