Marathon Training Day #80: Sunny days

With an “easy” 8k on my schedule, I decided to do my trusty 7.9k route home from work. It was unbelievably disorienting to do it with the sun still up. Spring is almost here!!

Something was up with my back all day (it felt like a pinched nerve. Gah!), so I took it easy on the way home. Slow and steady wins the race, they say.

I’m starting to freak out about Around the Bay. While I shouldn’t “race” it (it’s part of my training plan), I know I’m too competitive to not want to beat my time last year (3:29:36). And what if I don’t? I think I’m faster and in better shape than this time last year, but I’m also not 100% right now. I guess I just have to get out there and see what’s what.
