Marathon Training Day #121: A beautiful morning

The front porch! Grow, plants, grow!

The front porch! Grow, plants, grow!

I was good yesterday and went to yoga for runners in the morning, like I planned. The class focused on our glutes and it became apparent to me how tight mine are. Oh well, that’s what yoga is for, right?

I had a few errands to run after work (groceries, library, etc.) and I didn’t feel like running. So I didn’t. I’m ahead of the game this week in terms of training, so I don’t think it’s a big deal. A run on Friday and a run on the weekend, and all is well.

Oh, and I signed up for my work softball league. I haven’t played softball since I was very little. This will be interesting.

The Goodlife Marathon is on Sunday. I’m getting excited to cheer! Are you running? What’s your race plan? What are you wearing? I’ll be on the look out for you!

Ahh! My first half is tomorrow! I’m unfortunately not as excited as I want to be as an injury to my hip/groin that I though I’d solved as back again:( I’m running anyway though!

The weather is scaring me (since I trained in the cold all winter) so I’m going against a rule and wearing stuff I haven’t done a long run In yet – probably a white or purple shirt, a painfully white new balance hat and black capris. What will stand out the most about me is my bright pink lululemon backpack that I run with, but you won’t see that until I’m past you 😉 oh and my bib will say Sarah, Nancy is a pseudonym 🙂

    Thanks so much for cheering!!

My original goal was to hit just under a 7minute k which should have me safely finished in just under 2:30 – but with my hop the way it is, just finishing is my goal now!

Good luck on your marathon! It’s in a few more weeks right?

Aww, you’ll be great! Just enjoy it and don’t push too hard — hip pain is so annoying! The weather is going to be fine. It was 21 last year and it was hot, but bearable if you hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!

I’ll keep and eye for you tomorrow! Go Nancy/Sarah!
