Last week, I got all my runs in (hurrah) and if I count my paddleboarding, I got my crosstraining in,too. Win! Although, I’m not sure if paddleboarding actually counts. I got a blister on my finger. It must count.
Monday was a holiday and I spent most of it in a car, driving home from the cottage. We’re off again on Thursday, heading to Ottawa for a wedding. Since I don’t want to do my long run the morning after a wedding, I’m adjusting my entire schedule. Here’s what I have planned:
Monday — rest
Tuesday — speedwork
Wednesday — hilly 8k
Thursday — yoga for runners
Friday — easy 45
Saturday — 15k LSD
Sunday — ???? whatever I can handle, I guess.
And some lunch time yoga when I can fit it in. I don’t want to schedule that, as I find when I do, I never go. So as long as I schedule my runs, the rest I’ll play by ear.
Any recommendations for a great yoga studio in Ottawa? I’d love to check one out while I am there!
I also downloaded a few free 20 minute yoga classes from YogaDownload, in an effort to get more yoga in my life whenever I can. I’ll let you know how it goes!
Hey Erin! I live in Ottawa and these are my favorite studios:
Pure Yoga in Westboro
Rama Lotus in Centre town
Yoga town in Little Italy
Also, if you are in need of running routes, let me know! I recommend doing some running along the river on the Quebec side

Thanks, AM! And I’d LOVE running route suggestions. I have a 45 minute easy run and a 15k LSD planned, so any tips would be appreciated!
Where abouts are you staying? If you are near downtown, the easy 45 would prob be easiest to do an out and back along the canal.
For the 15km, a nice route is along the river parkway, cross over to gateneau at the war museum, back to Ontario on the Alexandria bridge (museum of civilization). Depending on where you start, you can either run by the governor general’s house or through downtown.
Another nice place to run is through the experimental farm and to Dow’s lake.
Anyway, I can be more detailed if you want more details 🙂
